About Us
A part of local history
For over a century the photographic company that we now know as Robert Aldsworth Photo World has been a part of Oshawa life. From its earliest beginnings when it was started in 1898 by William E O'Brien, a local man who had interests in several local photographic concerns, to the current business, it has maintained standards of excellence in its work for both consumer and commercial clients.

Expert staff to help you
Between them, the staff at Robert Aldsworth's Photo World possess over 175 years of accumulated photographic knowledge, a major reason why so many customers rely on Aldsworth's for their photographic excellence. These years of experience enable them to offer you the broadest range of photographic services and photographic knowledge as well as the best customer service and photo quality in the region. In 2007 they were very proud to celebrate 50 years in business!
Kathy, along with her father Bob, operate a very hands-on operation, and they are directly involved in every aspect of the business. They are also quite proud to say that with the implementation of the lab's slide processor seven years ago, and the digital lab equipment over five years ago, they are now able to complete virtually every photographic service on-site.
Offering you great customer service in the store or on the phone, there is the expertise of Irene and Joanne along with the help of Brandi who is also the resident restoration expert. Brandi along with Janis are the qualified printing staff who have years of experience and training to produce the best quality photographs for you and your family. Irene also demonstrates her talents as the custom framer. Lee Ann works in the office and sees to it that the accounting paperwork and the camera repairs get looked after on a very timely basis.
Family run since 1957 the store today offers a great selection of camera equipment and the finest in-house lab in the Durham region.
